2) After surface hardening treatment, the surface hardness of the material reaches 650 HV, the tensile strength is about 1120 MPa, and the average impact toughness is 84 J/cm2. The improved process of carbonitriding keeps the core of the material with good toughness, but also greatly improves the surface strength and hardness.

3) The effect of microstructure change on mechanical properties of 42CrMo4 quenched and tempered steel was studied by carburizing process. It has high scientific research value and guiding significance to engineering practice.
